Their site offers a variety of information from prevention, to early detection of kidney disease, to management of kidney failure and transplantation. They are funded primarily through donations which go to research (including to this laboratory), patient service activities and educational outreach

The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) Facilitates organ sharing, including kidney, among transplant centers, organ procurement centers and typing laboratories in the USA. UNOS administers the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), a unified transplant network established by the United States Congress under the National Organ Transplant Act (NOTA) of 1984 to be operated by a private, non-profit organization under federal contract.
